Hello Sagar,
Greetings! U r doing a wonderful job. Just now i checked up the OBG assessment sheet. I would like to inform u that Manual Muscle Testing cannot be done to the abdominal, perineal & gluteal muscles, where as these three were mentioned in the assessment sheet. Other than these, even back extensor muscles also cannot be graded with MMT.

But ur work is simply superb.

I wish u ALL THE BEST !

Thanks for your inputs.

But these assessment format has been made keeping in mind all OBG conditions rather than considering only pregnancy. So, depending on the condition, different muscles will require concentration.

In addition, assessment sheet only says emphasis should be given to these muscles and this is also required during pregnancy too. Only caution is to test MMT in modified testing positions.

MODIFIED TESTING POSITIONS:

Abdominal: Testing Distasis Recti
Back Extensors: Sitting on a fixed stool.
Gluteus: Standing on one leg (can be stabilised in corner), therapist pushes the bent leg forward from the posterior position

More detailed explanation can be fund the reference book mentioned below along with modified testing positions.

Reference: Obstetric and gynecologic care in physical therapy By Rebecca Gourley Stephenson, Linda J. O'Connor

Hope you might have got the required explanation.

Cheers for PHYSICAL THERAPY,
